About Us

We are a small family run business and have been farming the family crofts for 4 generations – Douglas’s mother moved to the Tow croft in 1927, aged 18 months, with her parents, and lived in the farmhouse for the rest of her life. We, Douglas and Sheila, have been farming here for the last 35 years, joined by our son Jamie, in the last few years.

Agriculture is our main business but like many others we have diversified into other areas over the years. Our transport enterprise grew from providing accessible school transport in the early 90’s and our coach enterprise has been established since 2002.

We have had an interest in Tourism since the early 90’s when we ran self-catering accommodation and enjoyed welcoming visitors from the UK and abroad.

Whilst our accommodation units are now let long term, our interest in welcoming people to our islands naturally ties in with our bus and coach service and we are delighted to offer our coach tours to visitors to our beautiful islands.

Based in the South of Shetland, we have a passion for our Islands and all things local that we want to share with you. We look forward to sharing our love of Shetland with you, showing you some of the traditional aspects of Shetland, our beautiful striking scenery and the wildlife on our doorstep.
